Snowflake art, elf adventures, and Festive Explorations at Orion Little Stars Ravensworth

Last week, the children at Orion Little Stars Ravensworth were fully immersed in the wonder of the Christmas season, involved in activities that were both fun and fantastic for skill development.

The Art of the Snowflake:

A main activity this week was the challenging and rewarding process of making paper snowflakes. The children practiced their precision and control by carefully folding the paper and then using scissors to cut out intricate designs. Each snowflake turned out completely unique, which then led to great discussion about symmetry and patterns.

The Great Elf Hunt:

Our class elf has been causing great excitement every morning! The children loved coming in to find him in a new, often hilarious, hiding spot. This daily tradition encourages observational skills, prediction, and team problem-solving as they work together to locate our festive visitor.

Other Festive Fun:

Alongside our snowflakes and elf adventures, we explored a range of other Christmas activities, including new sensory trays, festive songs, and story time focusing on winter tales.
