Learning Comes to Life at Orion Little Stars Nursery

Children at Orion Little Stars Nursery have been busy developing their early learning skills through a range of hands-on activities designed to make learning fun and engaging. This week, the nursery was full of excitement as children practised counting numbers displayed on the wall, confidently calling them out together and reinforcing their early numeracy skills.

Using wooden blocks and a variety of shapes, the children explored size, colour and balance, helping to build problem-solving abilities and hand-eye coordination. The activities encouraged teamwork and curiosity, with children eager to experiment and share their ideas as they learned through play.

Alongside this, children also focused on early literacy and fine motor development. They practised writing their names, proudly recognising letters and forming them independently. Creative matching activities saw children carefully placing animal shapes onto the correct outlines on paper, strengthening their shape recognition skills while boosting concentration and confidence. Staff at Orion Little Stars Nursery say these activities support children’s development across multiple learning areas, helping to lay strong foundations for future learning.
